2003 was the era where companies realized they could take a completely average CRT television, make it pink, slap Disney branding on the front, and parents would lose their minds in the aisle at Sears. That is EXACTLY what this thing is.
Even today…. Her value is mostly in collector hype. She is NOT worth $500.
This is not a BVM. This is not some mythical ultra-high-end CRT hidden from history. Underneath the pink shell and Disney branding is basically just a normal little Funai-built consumer TV. Composite only. Mono audio. Standard shadow mask tube. The actual electronics inside are not remotely exotic. But honestly? I still like her. Because even though the collector market completely lost its mind over these things, the TV itself has charm. She is a cute little bubble tube and it's kind of adorable and nostalgic at the same time. This one survived a child's bedroom better than most! Most of these lived brutal lives. Kids spilled drinks into them. Parents tossed them in basements, plastic cracked and tubes got burned by the Disney channel.
This one cleaned up nicely. Minor scuffs sure, but the shell still looks bright and the tube itself is honestly pretty healthy. Geometry is decent, colors are stable, and focus is perfectly acceptable for a cheap composite set.
You are not buying this TV because it secretly destroys Sony Trinitrons. You are buying it because it’s a pink Disney CRT and your brain instantly gets teleported back to 2003. AND THATS OK! BUT that nostalgia tax is where I start rolling my eyes…
I do not care what TikTok collectors or eBay flippers say. I genuinely like this TV and even I think the pricing around these has become completely detached from reality. At the end of the day she’s still a small composite consumer CRT with novelty plastic wrapped around her. A fun display piece? Definitely. But some people talk about these like big Walt himself handcrafted the flyback transformer under a full moon…..lol, it’s a pink TV, man. Just a really cute pink TV. 6.8
